The Wish Economy is a participatory and performative event we run through all our events. A non-monetary exchange system, where simple wishes, wrapped in beeswax, are collected from the community and distributed to other people; the Wish Economy mediates the transmission of wishes from one stranger to another. The Wish Economy is an act of generating spaces for listening, hoping and connecting. Over time we gather and stock pile wishes – like honey and then redistribute them on the light rail system – it is delightful, performance and exchange with the public. People have shared with us stories of their garden, encounters with bees, love of nature, intergenerational stories and simple moments of human to human glee.
